How to Cook Flathead Fillets
The key is: gentle heat, short time — flathead is delicate and cooks quickly
Pan-Fried (Best): Thaw, pat dry, season. Dust lightly with flour for a golden crust. Medium-high heat with oil or butter. 2–3 min per side. Rest 1–2 min.
Battered/Crumbed (Fish and Chips): Coat in seasoned flour, egg and breadcrumbs or batter. Fry at 180°C for 3–4 min. Flathead is one of the classic fish and chips fish.
